Problems of Pre-School Education Sphere Debated

On February 10, in the RA National Assembly the an expanded working debate on the theme The Legislative Reforms and Problems of Pre-School Education Sphere in Armenia was held, where the RA NA deputies, those responsible for the education sphere, the representatives of the pre-school education sphere from the RA Marzes, the directors of the kindergartens, tutors and other specialists working with children took part.

The Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and the Committee member Sofia Hovsepyan moderated the discussion.

Hovhannes Hovhannisyan has informed that the goal of the meeting is to discuss with the specialists pre-school education the draft law on Amending the RA Law on Pre-School Education, and the legislators envisage holding the debate in the second reading in March.

According to Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, the draft law refers to the care of 0-6 age children and the pre-school education.

The Committee member Sofia Hovsepyan touched upon the problems of pre-school institutions, highlighting their solution.

The RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan has informed that after passing the draft law in the first reading numerous debates took place, the draft law has been revised, but there is still need for additional discussion.

The participants touched upon the various problems of the sphere through questions, presented recommendations and remarks.
